Tejiendo Suenos: Craft-work with Cabuya

The cabuya fiber is from a plant similar to a cactus that's been used for hundreds of years in Costa Rican craftsmanship. Traditionally from Costa Rica's northern region of Cartago, a co-op of women have brought the craft-work to Rancho Quemado.
They have been incorporating their own regional techniques into the process of making handbags by dyeing the fibers with flora that can be found only in the Osa Peninsula.
