Located in the heart of the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica, 15km east of Drake Bay and 15km west of Rincon. About 60 minutes by car from Puerto Jimenez


From San Jose

Take the InterAmericana Highway until you arrive at the big gas station in La Chacarita (hard to miss). From there, follow the signs directing you to Puerto Jimenez. Once you reach Rincon, you'll see signs for Drake Bay. Turn Right immediately before the Rincon bridge and follow Drake Bay signs until you arrive in lovely Rancho Quemado

*note: if you pass the Rincon Bridge, you've gone too far

Approximate time: 6 hours

By Bus:

Take the 8:00am bus at the Lobo Blanco Company (ask for the San Carlos bus terminal) in San Jose. Ask the bus driver to let you off at Rincon. From Rincon, take the 4:45pm bus to Rancho Quemado.

Approximate time: 9.5 hours

From Puerto Jimenez
Head northwest towards La Palma. Shortly after you pass La Palma, you will approach Rincon. Immediately after the Rincon Bridge, take a left. Follow the signs leading to Drake Bay. After about 15km you will arrive in Rancho Quemado

Approximate time: 60 minutes

By Bus:

Take a Bus which goes to La Palma. Buses leave La Palma for Rancho and Drake Bay at 11:30am and 4:30pm
every day except Sunday

From Drake Bay (Agujitas)

From Drake Bay, take public transport (which leaves at 4:00am from the Ice Cream Store in the middle of town (Heladeria) or follow the main road out of town in your car for 15km until you reach Rancho Quemado

Approximate time: 45 minutes

By Airplane

The two closest airports are in Drake Bay and Puerto Jimenez. Both offer several flights daily. (Check out NatureAir and Sansa Airlines).

Additionally, there are several car rental options next to the airports.

Once you have your rental car, follow the directions to your left (or take a bus) to get to lovely Rancho Quemado!
